WritersBlock
A cure for the blank page — pick a genre, get an original prompt with a plot outline and starter characters, argue with it until it's right, then start writing.
Every writer knows the feeling: you want to start something new, you know roughly what mood or genre you're after, and you still sit there for twenty minutes with nothing on the page. WritersBlock is built for exactly that moment. Pick one of 17 genres — from Noir and Psychological Horror to Romantasy and Cozy Fantasy — and WriteWell generates an original scene-starting prompt, a short plot outline, and two or three starter characters, all in one shot.
Every genre in WritersBlock is written by WriteWell itself at request time — there's no fixed list of prompts being served on repeat. Regenerate as many times as you like; each pass is a fresh take on the genre's conventions.
Straightforward genre picks alongside a few built around a specific literary tradition — written in the spirit of that tradition's conventions, never copied text.
Here's an actual Henry Miller-genre generation: a full scene prompt, a four-beat outline, and three named characters with distinct roles — ready to read, edit, or hand straight to a new project.
Refine with chat opens a conversation with the same model, seeded with what it just generated. "Add a rival character," "make the ending bleaker," "cut the second character entirely" — each reply updates the prompt, outline, and characters in place, and the conversation keeps building on the latest version, not the original.
Hit Save for Later at any point — the original generation or three refinements deep — and it's kept in a sidebar labeled with genre, stage, and timestamp, so regenerating or trying a new genre never destroys something you liked. When one's ready, Start new project from this creates a new manuscript project and seeds its Characters and Notes straight from the result — you're writing within seconds.
